Position: Electrical Project Engineer Location: Casper, WY
Description:

Assist Operations with planning, design oversight and technical support for existing and new projects, equipment specification, installation, troubleshooting and start-up phases. Will work in the Office, Shop, vendor sites and under all weather conditions in the field.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planning, organizing, implementing, oversight, and cost tracking of projects

  • Report and present activities and progress to Management

  • General cost vs. budget tracking, oversight, and reporting

  • Assist in supporting the design and implementation of capital equipment

  • Support routine operation drilling activities

  • Assist the engineering and operation staff as needed including equipment management, safety engineering, and process improvement

  • Travel as necessary to and from drilling rig sites while assisting engineering and operations

  • Knowledge of operation and troubleshooting of electric electronic circuits and components

  • Understanding of the application and operation of instrumentation devices such as pressure and temperature transducers and basic knowledge of the control circuits utilized with motor controllers

  • Ability to perform needed calculations relative to power requirements and power consumption of system components

  • Apply mechanical/electrical and/or control systems engineering to the design, documentation, testing and installation practices for Drilling Rigs and subsystems.


    Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Self-starter and independent working attributes are essential

  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization

  • Scheduling and budgeting abilities

  • Must possess a strong desire to learn and work in the Oil and Gas Industry

  • An understanding of basic engineering concepts

  • Knowledge of PLC and HMI applications and programing

  • Understanding of Hydraulics/Pneumatics, AC drives and controls is a plus(ABB/Converteam/Yaskawa)

  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols, including OPC, MODBUS, Ethernet IP, and Profibus is required.

  • Software Design and Development experience.

  • Ability to read Electrical schematics.

  • Basic knowledge of safety principals

  • Excellent computer including network management and problem solving skills

  • Solidworks and Microsoft Office Software experience a plus


    Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree or higher in an engineering discipline (Preference for Electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering). Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without restriction.
