Position:  Shop Mechanic                                            Location:  Casper, WY
 

Job Definition: The Shop Mechanic will be responsible for accurately and efficiently performing diversified tasks relating to product installation, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining of company equipment in SST Energy shop and yard areas. Requires constant physical mechanical labor and ability to work alone at times.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair of Equipment.

  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities. Execute routine maintenance programs for company equipment.

  • Recommend course of action for repair/maintenance of equipment

  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment.

  • Cary out various tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager

  • Primarily working in shop/yard environment

  • Travel may be required if deemed necessary by company

  • Overtime, emergency call-ins and weekend hours may be required depending on work load.

     

    Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing

  • Scheduling and organization abilities

  • Working knowledge of drilling rig mechanical systems and diesel engines

  • Make repairs with minimum assistance

  • Work in all weather conditions

  • Work safely and follow company safety directives

  • Possess customer service satisfaction mentality at all times

  • Utilize computer and software for diagnostics, communications, data tracking, and reporting.

  • Experience in Microsoft Office: Word; EXCEL; Outlook

     

    Minimum Qualifications: A High School diploma or GED. A minimum of 3 (three) years’ experience in the oil and gas field operations is preferred. Completion of vocational mechanics training program preferred. Self-provided set of tools for daily use. Have a current Driver’s License and good MVR report. Be able to pass various background and drug testing. Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without restriction.
